Please describe your company.

I work for a small company that makes and sells bus tracking apps for local bus companies in the United Kingdom. We use positions that come from tracking devices in buses, and we display them on a map, which is available on iPhone and Android.

What are your role and responsibilities?

I am the founder.

Opportunity / Challange

What was your goal for working with AppSquadz Technologies?

We didn't have the funds to hire an Android developer, so we decided to outsource the job.


Please describe the scope of their work.

Our apps all work on a template system. We've built a system that can change the branding and logo and so on for each of the different bus companies. What we needed from AppSquadz was a template system like the one we used for iPhone, which we could interchange with all the different companies we deal with and operate on the Android market. They built a custom Android app that would allow us to change the colors and everything easily without affecting the core functionality behind the app. Essentially AppSquadz fully built the Android app. The whole thing started around March and probably finished in early May 2015.

What was your process for selecting AppSquadz Technologies?

They were referred to us by a friend. We didn't consider any other agencies at the time. The deal we had with Fourth Screen Labs was so good that we didn't need to do that. Overall, the project was great. It was just what I expected it to be, and it was just as my friend described. It was perfect.

Can you give a sense of the size of the initiative?

It was roughly $3,000.

Results & Feedbacks

What were the results of the project?

It couldn't have been much better. I was assigned a programmer from their company who knows Android and Java, and it turned out very well. I was kept up to date through the whole process. They used Elance, which tracked all of the payments and how much work had been done. I had constant screenshots to show the progress being made. The whole process was very good.

Do you have any statistics or metrics on the project?

The app has only just come out, but within about a month, we've already had 250 downloads, which is the exact amount we were looking for. The feedback that has come to us through Google Play reviews has been very positive as well. It was a very good result.

Is there anything unique or special about AppSquadz Technologies that really makes them stand out?

The best thing about working with them has to be the fact that I was able to have a constant stream of communication, whenever I required it, with the developer assigned to me. That was perfect.

Looking back on the work so far, is there any area that you think they could improve upon or something that you might do differently?

I've never worked on a project like this before, so it was a fairly new experience. The one thing I would say is that we did go over the deadline a little bit, but it wasn't really an issue. Other than that, there wasn't anything.

What advice would you give a future client of theirs?

To be honest, just go with them. It was a really good, affordable project. If a company is looking for affordability and ease of use, they should definitely go with AppSquadz.
